Several weeks ago while finding ourselves in the Southern part of Klang Valley after a hearty meal at Six One Seafood, Jean decided that we should check out this rather unique stall in Seri Kembangan that offers pork rojak. Yes, PORK ROJAK.

For those who are familiar with rojak, it is comes with two different varieties, the type with fruits as the main ingredient, and the Indian/Mamak type that’s also known as passembur (in Penang). This pork rojak is closer to the former with its sauces.

The standard plate comes with cucumber, tofu pok, tofu, hard boiled egg, pig’s ear, and some offal for RM 10 (small portion); you can also add prawn fritter (unfortunately not crispy..) for RM 3 per piece. The whole thing is then doused with sweet rojak sauce, chili sauce, and some sesame seeds.

The result is exactly what I’ve imagined, cold dry pork with a sauce that’s perhaps a bit too sweet for the already savory ingredients.

There are certainly some loyal customers who frequent this place, but for me, it’s a bit too far out from the left field, and I’d much prefer the same ingredients to be had with loh bak type of sauce, and have my rojak be filled with fruits (and sambal belacan).

Never know if you don’t try, right?

would be awesome if you dip regular fatty HK style roast pork into rojak sauce and eat. BRO! The crackling provides the perfect crunchy texture to go with sauce.
