The other weekends we paid a visit to TuJu Residences at KL Duta North. This isn’t just any mixed residential development; it’s set to shake up the urban living scene in Kuala Lumpur, with one concept that I haven’t yet seen in any other projects so far.
This 41-storey twin-tower is like a giant Lego set for grown-ups, with modular commercial and residential units that cater to the diverse needs of modern families. The name “TuJu” “direction” means direction in Malay, and this place is all about creating a meaningful space where functionality is at the priority. It’s designed to foster a connected, caring multi-generational community where everyone feels supported and empowered.
TuJu Residences sprawls over 4.52 acres and includes 932 spacious residential units and 38 retail units. It’s a low-density development with two blocks, each housing 466 units. Block B launched in March 2024, and Block A is set to debut in Q4 2024.
retail + residences is all about practical convenience
The development all about simplicity and vibrant contrasts. Think lush greenery, vibrant colors, and textures that make the space come alive. The architectural facade is not just pretty; it’s practical too. Balcony ledges and glazing are integrated with structural walls, creating elegant lines that enhance aesthetics and manage heat through passive ventilation.
the model building at the show room, look at the facility floor
With a focus on sustainability, there are natural cross-ventilation, extensive green spaces, water bodies (my favorite), and advanced rainwater and solar power harvesting technologies. It’s all about minimizing environmental impact and promoting sustainable urban living.
accessbility bathroom, a godsend for those who need it
TuJu Residences offers a variety of unit configurations, catering to singles, extended families, and holistic senior living. With 10 distinct layouts, units range from 710 to 1,442 sq ft, featuring 1- to 4-bedroom offerings and priced from an affordable RM440,000. The car parks are EV-friendly, and owners can apply for their own EV wall boxes, subject to the usual terms and approval.
There’s even unit with huge bathroom equipped with accessibility ramps and wide doors that’s super friendly for wheelchair users, negating any excessive renovation to make the space fit for those who are in need.
jawa mee stall at Hoi Kee kopitiam
Personally thought, I also like that the location of TuJu Residences is just a few hundred meters away from some of my favorite food at Segambut – Hoi Kee kopitiam with the awesome jawa mee, fried chicken rice by Lorong Segambut Pusat 1, and clay pot chicken rice at Kim Poh can realistically be visited within a short walk away. That, for me, is accessibility!
