Ever since Pepper Lunch got a resurrection and opened up a branch at i-City Mall near where we stay, Jean and I have been going there a few times for their beef pepper rice.
Then one day, she had the brilliant idea and said “Why don’t we try to make this at home?“, and I replied “You mean why don’t you make this at home?“… so I.. I mean, we did just that. And the result was awesome, so I want to jot down the recipe for my future reference, and maybe you may find it useful too.

This recipe is good for two pax.

- 1 tablespoon freshly ground pepper
- salt to taste
For sauce:
- 2 tablespoon honey
- 3-4 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2-3 clove of finely chopped garlic
beef slices, corn kernels, spring onions, simple ingredient list
Instructions:
- heat up cast iron pan till smoking hot
- add butter (or other type of oil) on the pan
- place beef around the edge, rice on center
- pour corn, spring onion, salt & pepper all over
- stir and cook the beef on hot iron pan and enjoy with the pre-mixed sauce!
The result was a super satisfying meal, I’ve stopped having to go to Peper Lunch for this.
Walau eh this is the Malaysian version of Go make me a sandwich woman lol lol. If got special mushrooms in lunch, then be careful ah LOL

I can’t remember if I had pepper lunch before but your version definitely attract me to try if I see the restaurant. Or perhaps I can duplicate at home too like you, but my cast iron is mini one, only can cook half bow of rice, haha!
Choi Yen: time to get a big cast iron!
Interesting dish! Can’t say it looks really photogenic like it’s something to die for though.
suituapui: no food is ever to die for. haha
