Last weekend we found ourselves at Seremban for a bit of a used bike shopping trip, and when in Seremban for only one opportunity for a meal, it has gotta be Seremban beef noodle, isn’t it?
Soup & Dry type of mixed beef noodle
While the “more famous” beef noodle stall is one at the Pasar Besar Seremban, for this trip we opted to head to Quinn Beef Noodle situated at Kemayan Square, which is some 10 minutes away from the pasar besar.
The reason? The baby was with us and Quinn’s offer an air conditioned area that’s much more accessible when you have a 4 month old tagging along.
The menu here is really just a one page affair – you have the option to choose between soup or dry version, as well as having beef innards, or if you just want a beef ball soup.
Our choice were pretty much everything – a bowl of dry mixed beef noodle (RM 10), a soup version (RM 10), and a bowl of beef ball soup (RM 10).
beef ball is absolutely delightful too
Regardless of the versions you choose, the beef noodle is served with their special type of “lai fun”that’s made of rice flour, it’s a little bit like an in between of Penang laksa noodle & lou she fun noodle, I find the texture quite interesting and soaks up just about the right amount of sauce/soup.
The beef and innards were quite tender and flavorful, with plus point going to the dry version as the accompanying gooey gravy gives it that additional flavor, and you do still get a small bowl of the same soup anyway so you’re not missing out.
baby wants to eat but so far can only see..
The beef ball soup should also be a must-order to share, they go really well with the homemade cili sauce (that packs a punch!).
We ordered the “small” portions and they were indeed quite small, but with another 10 beef balls between the two of us, it turned out to be a pretty fulfilling meal regardless.

this stall is special because the lai fun offers that chewiness texture which is different to the regular hor fun that usually accompanies beef noodle stalls
kekeke: that is very true and very “normal” comment. haha.
I went to the one on top of the Seremban wet market!!! So crowded but luckily, we managed to get a table. One lady from one of the stalls was so kind – she offered to go and order the beef noodles for us…wherever the stall was – I never got to see it, I got the dry version of the beef noodles and I did not like it at all. Didn’t know there was the clear soup version – I would have loved that!
P.S.: I loved the noodles at Yit Poh in Seremban, the Hakka mee especially.
suituapui: yaa the goey dry version is certainly not for everyone
I’m not a fan of Seremban style dry beef noodle, don’t like the thick starchy sauce. >_<
Choi Yen: haha then you won’t like the Klang “curry rice” too I bet.
wah, ah uncle KY called me civilized, it is a great compliment #gotbeef
kekeke: kasi chance.
