Sometimes I gotta step back and remember that this is still a little corner of the internet that I called home, jotting down places to eat that I love to share, food recipes that I want to remember for myself, travel experiences, and notable life events.
Well, here’s one of those events., perhaps the most significant event thus far, with the the birth of our son, Casey, on 13/6/2023.
Hello Casey, meet the world!
On the 12th of June, after almost 39 weeks of pregnancy, at 10:30pm or so Jean’s water broke, which basically said = “baby’s coming!”.
After a shower and packing up, we headed to the hospital and checked in.
The plan was for a normal delivery, but due to issues with dilation and trying to minimize risks of infection having water break past 24 hr, we headed to the operating theater for emergency C-section at around 10:30pm on the 13th of June, 2023.
45 minutes later, the nurses wheeled out our brand new baby, all pink, purple, and slightly screamy.
I extended my finger and he instinctively grabbed around it, my heart melted. Laying in front of me is now the most precious thing I’ve ever laid my eyes on.
I promise to be the best dad I can be, Casey, you’re the best father’s day gift.
family portrait, baby is now 2 weeks young
Casey is 2-week young today. A healthy baby that’s drinking well, and sort of settled into a schedule.
We’re doing this whole confinement thing at home, with me essentially playing the role of “confinement lady”, helping out with diaper change and some feeding sessions in the day time, cooking nutritional meals for Jean & I, and enjoying these precious moments.
Will probably be sharing some dishes I’ve been preparing this last couple weeks on this space. Regular food review updates may be slightly delayed in the time being.
Thank you for your well wishes & prayers, you know who you are. Jean, Casey, and myself are blessed.
Congrats to you and Jean !
Hope you guys get enough sleep.
