One of my favorite discovery last year was Nongshim Stir Fry Ramyun, their springy spicy noodle has since became a bit of a staple at my kitchen, whenever the craving strikes, I’d take out a packet and make myself a treat.
Well, for those who can’t get enough of Nongshim, this Chinese New Year they’ve came up with the first ever Nongshim SHIN Yee Sang!
Nongshim SHIN Yee Sang comes with instructions
At this point, Yee Sang is pretty much a must for any CNY gathering, right? It is after all the very identity of a true blue Malaysian CNY experience (yes, it is invented in Malaysia, not China, and definitely not Singapore).
The version by Nongshim is very easy to be prepared and comes in a rather nice looking box that you can use as as a decorative CNY accessory, hang it on the wall, or by the living room counter, for example.
Anyway, here’s how you prepare the Nongshim SHIN Yee Sang:

First of all, crunch the noodle and place in oven or air fryer for 5 minutes at 180 Celsius, then place aside to be served later.
everything is packed properly, an air fryer/oven is all you need
Next, arrange all the yee sang ingredients that comes in vacuum sealed packets neatly onto the included platter.
Sprinkle peanut, sesame, pepper & herb spices powder around the platter next.
Then add those ready-to-eat abalone on top, this will elevate the entire combination next level. You may also cut the abalone into slices especially if you have more guests.
huat ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Got abalone too!
Add those air-fried Nongshim SHIN noodle in the middle, then pour the pre-mixed sauce over the ingredients. Of course, you should (like I did) pour some Nongshim seasoning powder on top for extra kick too.
Then, it’s “Huat ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!” and let the lou sang begins!

They’re selling this all over town. Not buying any – can’t stand the mess plus it’s not the Foochow culture – we never had that all our lives. It only made its presence felt here recently.
suituapui: you know, I never really realise yee sang isn’t a big thing in Sibu!
That’s very creative way to Incorporate their product for this festive, bravo to the team! But the ingredients are too little but the plate is so big, LOL
Choi Yen: haha they’re very generous with the box. 😀
Happy CNY! I hope this year brings you much happiness.
Monica: thanks & enjoy the holidays!
What a novel idea! 😉 I like that it’s small….first we have 1-pax poon choy, now we also can have 1-pax yee sang….hah..hah. Too bad I couldn’t find them in the supermarkets near me, otherwise I’d love to try.
eatwhateatwhere: hahaha 1 pax yee sang would be a bit sad tho! lol.
