Back in 2007 I wrote about one particular mee goreng at Restaurant New Yew Sang that I really liked, but unfortunately the operator passed away just a few months after that due to heart attack. For the next 6+ years, I wasn’t able to find another comparable mee goreng in Klang Valley, the version you find at most mamak restaurants is just not up to standard.
Seeni Mee Goreng at Asia Cafe, Subang Jaya
Not long ago, on one of my many breakfast sessions at Restaurant Okay’s curry mee, one of the regulars whom I share table with everytime I go there, mentioned about mee goreng in Klang Valley and recommended this particular stall at Asia Cafe.
Being a fan of good hawker food, I had to give it a try, and I’m glad I did.
now this is a version of mee goreng I like
The stall is located at SS15’s Asia Cafe with the signboard that says “Seeni Mee Goreng”, “Mee Goreng Master” etc, quite a big dose of self confidence I must say.
Luckily, the mee goreng mamak is indeed very good, with a healthy portion of classic Penang mee goreng ingredients, including the marinated squid, potato, lime, vegetable, and fritters. I also particularly like the spicy and sweet sauce that moist up the whole plate of noodle. If you’re a fan of mee goreng, you will enjoy this.
I’m going to try their mee rebus next.

I think before this, it’s operated by Indonesian at the same stall. Their mee rebus and mee goreng is awesome. I shall have a try on this now.
Kingsley: hope you like it too 😀
I’ve been there…TWICE! Food’s ok, nice…nothing sensational, Will try this if ever anybody takes me there again.
suituapui: yeap, college eat out spot, not too shabby but usually nothing to shout about.
KY, this cafe food stall is so interesting like many other. It what Asia culture so much more I want to see soon
Vickie: yah, we literally have more types of food than anyone can remember.
Ahhh… love that amount of squid!
Ken: yeah, most important ingredient for me!
3am now … and i want this for supper! 😀
Sean: good thing mamak opens late!
Tried it some time back. Was not impressed, but then again it could be because I prefer it drier rather than soggy. 😉
Alex: yea, food is very subjective kan?
that mee is like 1malaysia
immature: memang!
walau. i can still comment on that 2007 review. keke. spam galore….
immature: ok bah.
One of the most authentic mee mamak that can be find in Klang Valley, will sometime head over if I’m there for work.
JD: you and I both agree!
Been following this man for a while now. From AC Kota Damansara to AC Puchong until he moved to AC SS15. Great authentic flavour. A kind man to talk to as well.
Hilmi: good to know! yah I first heard about this guy was when they talked about him being at Puchong
There is a restaurant in Klang, near the railway station. It is selling mamak mee goreng. The favourite mee goreng of the former Sultan Selangor.
Hung: ooo good to know!
It’s weird, I went to the places u recommended in ur blogs, they were disappointments most of the times. Either ur taste buds is different and never tried a real nice food, or u were paid to do such reviews. This mee goreng for example, I tried it the other day and I didn’t even bother to finish it, and I can’t believe u made it sound so nice here.
anonymous: I reject any payment for food reviews, so I guess we can agree to disagree on our taste buds. After all, food is very subjective, and often time it may not even taste the same at different occasions from the exact same stall/restaurant. I still maintain that I liked this version of mee goreng from the few times I had it. 🙂
