I still vividly remember 1st Jan 2000, I was with a few friends driving around Washington DC, just finished our late NYE dinner when the fireworks started. Worrying about the potential Y2K bug and how the whole IT infrastructure was going to go berserk (nothing happened huh?).

And here we are, in a little more than 2 weeks it’d be exactly 10 years later. How time flies.

KY & Haze in the magical train
KY & Haze in the Magical train, Hong Kong

A lot has happened in 10 years. I got back to Malaysia, went through 3 different jobs, visited a few new countries, bought a house, bought a car, picked up diving, started this blog, got to know many great friends, started and ended several relationships; within just this year I went to 6 dive trips, went to Hong Kong (blog posts coming soon), renovated (ok renovating) the house, and most importantly, got together with Haze and got engaged.

With the incoming new year, most of us will have new resolutions – get healthier, be more hardworking, get a promotion, buy a car, a house, etc. I’m usually not particularly big on resolutions, but hey, that’s just me.

If your resolutions for 2011 include upgrading the mobile phone, then there’s good news, read on:

celcom sales

The Celcom Sales is back, and this time around they’re doing something slightly different.

From now till 31st March 2011, if you’re a Celcom user, every RM 10 you spent using your phone gets you 1 token. You can then use the token to get discounts on Celcom products, the more token you have, the bigger the discount.

On top of that, loyal customers get free tokens from the number of years you are with Celcom too. Celcom Blue customers get a token for every year with Celcom, Exec, Biz, and Broadband customers get even more, check this page.

For Celcom Exec & Celcom Biz, 40 tokens equal to RM 100 discount, 60 – RM 200 off. Celcom Blue & Celcom Broadband users get a set of different discounts too. Again, check this page.

Celcom Blackberry - Torch, Bold 3, Bold 2

For example, I’m on Celcom Biz. If I gather 50 tokens before the end of March, I can use it for a cool RM 250 discount towards the Blackberry Bold 9780. It’ll be RM 1538 for the spanking new Bold 3 with OS6 (there are of course, other phones too). Pretty neat deal isn’t it?

The highest discount goes all the way to RM 500 to be used if you purchase the Samsung Galaxy Tab that is already on discount if you sign up for 12 or 18 month plans (as low as RM 1368).

So check out the Celcom sales page and the various combination of discounts and deals.
