Allow me to introduce you the COLOURFUL SCOURINGPAD that is made in China. In an effort to attain globalisation superiority, Mao’s products now come with description in English… well, at least English alphabets.
From the Mie Jie (beauty and clean) company comes the Bai Jie Bu (literally White Clean Cloth.) These are easy enough, but then we get to the caption of this thing that reads “Make Food Ustensils Clean and Bright wight it“. I supposed it’s for cleaning utensils? beats me what wight is, I suppose they just missspelled “with” with an extra g.
As an exercise, please translate the description and instruction of usage of this product. Anyone who can complete such feat deserves to go on a date with me (if you’re a hot chick.)
Let me quote the instruction verbatim here
SHI YONG: QING JIE GE ZHONG ZHI OI DE BIAO MIAN, RU BU XIU GANG, LU, BO LI, TANG CI HE TAO CI DENG, RU BU QUE DING WU JIAN DE ZHI DI, XIAN ZAI BU XIAN DI FANG SHI YONG.
All i can get from this is that it can be used to clean variety of surfaces, like stainless steel, glass.. blah.. headache.
you can wight your plate too economy, easily! the dealer of the product of bai jie bu of the whole country supports it! you can wight your plate, then, you are relieved, and you can choose it. future wighting begins first from “bâ€.
my my… what powderful england… *LOL*
lynnee: i don’t usually type like that, inside joke 😛
Err… Chinese Scouring Pad for Scouring Chinese? LOL
I wonder the instructions are meant for who?
Maybe they think pinyin is English…
the thing that baffles me more is that you actually bought this scouring pad wtfbbq thing?
my mom did, not me laa….
Haha, I’m a total banana =P
Hi KY, thanks for stopping by my blog! I agree with you regarding the hypocrisy issue (vegetarian meat).
SHI YONG: QING JIE GE ZHONG ZHI OI DE BIAO MIAN, RU BU XIU GANG, LU, BO LI, TANG CI HE TAO CI DENG, RU BU QUE DING WU JIAN DE ZHI DI, XIAN ZAI BU XIAN DI FANG SHI YONG.
Translation:
Usage: Cleans all kinds of surfaces, for example stainless steel, glass, spoons and (pottery?). If you’re not sure of the material of the object, use the cloth in a discrete region (where it’s not so obvious to see) first.
My English is breaking apart. 🙂
I have an english version of Bai Jie Bu. We believe it was purchased by my husband’s grandmother at a dollar store. The instructions read:

Thank you for letting us know what Bai Jie Bu means. Sadly, we are way too amused by our scouring pads!
