I had a chance to take some photos at the Penang Youth Park the last time I went back to the island to attend an old friend’s wedding dinner. The once pretty run down but never neglected park is now a truely world class natural park that spots excellent landscaping as well as facilities for the active people.
There is a large field for soccer, and open air stage where we used to practice plays, a skating rink, half a dozen swimming pools with natural flowing water, shooting range for archery, a hiking trail to Penang Hill, x-game style site for BMX riders, various exercise equipments, obstacle courses, and even a giant chess set. All these free for the public, and you don’t even need to pay for parking.
These are some of the pictures I took with my slightly aged but still very reliable Canon Powershot G3 camera. Shots taken around 11am, which explains the relative quietness. The place is usually bustling with hyper active kids and wannabe active adults by the evening.
