Remember the Rexona MOVE post that was up on this blog on late June? Well, there’s some updates I want to share.
For those who were not familiar with this topic, it’s a movement created by Rexona where women are encouraged to participate by walking, running, or various other activities to contribute to social cause which Rexona will fund and support once the target is met.
Rexona MOVE, exceeded target goal over 8x!
The target was set at 10,695 KM, which basically covers the whole of Malaysia, including peninsular Malaysia together with Sabah and Sarawak. What you ended up achieving though, was a whopping 89,845 KM (and counting) by the time this was written!
That’s more than 8 times the initial target. To those who contributed to this, salute!
provided swimming lessons in Kedah, Lego, Monopoly and Scrabble at Perlis
To make every sweat count and to celebrate the success and overwhelming response of Rexona MOVE from Malaysians from all walks, Rexona follow up with their promise to help children across the nation.
Starting early July 2012, in Perlis, Rexona donated educational toys such as Lego, Monopoly, and Scrabble sets to Pusat Jagaan Hembusan Kasih which houses 24 under privileged children aged 7-12.
At Kedah, another 24 children from Rumah Budi enjoyed a 10-week long swimming lessons.
fun dance session at Children Protection’s Society in Penang
In Penang at Children Protection’s Society, a half-day aerobic/fun dance session was conducted to inject some excitement into the lives of some 30 children residing at the facility.
You can see in the photo that the activity puts a smile on many of the kids and they had a great time.
educational books provided at Pusat Jagaan Anak-anak Yatim & Miskin Nurul Aman, Perak
Moving down along the coast, at Perak’s Pusat Jagaan Anak-anak Yatim & Miskin Nurul Aman, Rexona provided educational books worth RM 3,500 to encourage reading and learning among some two dozen children under the facility’s care.
There are also activities planned for Terengganu, Kelantan, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak. Among these activities are crafts and games, house cleaning and painting, donation of educational toys, motivational talk, donation of coputers, and more.
Rexona MOVE with Sazzy Falak and Nazril Idrus
Rexona MOVE is also supported by Sazzy Falak and Nazril Idrus, who are also parents themselves.
I too feel that it is important that we pay attention to underprivileged children in Malaysia and do what we can to help. To those who contributed to this cause, thank you!
