I went to the Nuffnang Pajama Party last weekend and walked away with a Panasonic Lumix digital camera, what a sweet deal! I have to thank those who lost to me in thumb wrestling and scissor paper stone games, and also to a few who donated me (FA, Darren, johnny ong, skyler, and more) their stash as well!
Before I go any further, there are also more photos on my flickr set and the facebook album.
yeay I won the Panasonic Lumix FS3 camera!
Suan and I reached Borneo Baruk just shy of 7pm, and already there was quite a number of people. I made my round on the floor and met quite a few fellow bloggers. At this kind of event, there are always so many familiar faces whose names (or blog nicks) I struggle to recall, but it was nice meeting all of you!
bloggers can also party
The party was stuffed with fun and games, and a lot of random socializing in between. There was the thumb wrestling/paper scissor hand games that you bet with “nuffnang cash”, and that was how I won one of the three Panasonic Lumix cameras. Others won plugs from xiaxue and kenny, and there was a guy who forgo a camera for a kiss from Dawn Yang. I guess everyone has their own priority.
you gotta love David Lian’s outfit, he won a Wii!
Of all the party goers, I gotta salute David Lian for wearing his utterly ridiculous “pajama” made our of Chipster packets. He won a Nintendo Wii doing that, so it was all worth it. His wife must be very proud.
the Malaysian Dreamgirls were at the party too
The Malaysian Dreamgirls, including our very own Ringo made an unannounced appearance half way through the party. They too joined in and played some games on the stage where more prizes were given out.
FA loves to camwhore
There were a lot of camwhoring people last Saturday night, and FA took her opportunity to snap a few shots with the very fake policewoman and the French maid. Sailormoon and the nurse were prowling the floor.
salute to Su Ann and all the nuffies who made this happen
In all it was a great party, and I got to salute all the Nuffies for making this happen. It was great finally having the chance to meet some of the fellow bloggers too.
and I thought you’d love this picture
Lets make it even bigger next year!
Late last month I attended an event by Text100, as usual, David was the one who invited me. The venue was at Cafe Libre, Taman Desa; as suggested by Suan to David. Since she was the one who had that brilliant idea to suggest David to host the event there, I thought it was appropriate that she drove me there. Fighting with the traffic was never really one of my favorite things to do.
I’m enjoying the sandwich!
Upon arriving, we found that the whole Cafe Libre is closed for our private function – the Happy Event. No other customers, and free food for all of us who are attending, glorious! I couldn’t really ask for more, could I? But there were really more, read on and you’ll know what I mean.
pasta and the unique orange juice + beer
After hastily exchanging cards with the Happy hGenerators and David’s colleagues, I quickly went to the buffet line without waiting for anyone to start first. The pasta and potato were very good, but my favorite for the night would be the sandwich that has thick slices of tomato in it. The tomato gave the sandwich a very juicy texture and took away dryness from the bread. It was very good.
Cafe Libre also serves one pretty unique drink – beer with orange juice. Thick slurry orange juice at the bottom of ice cold beer, tastes pretty interesting and a must try if you find yourself there.
hula hoop competition, look at Kim!
After getting our stomach filled, the real event began. Apparently the Happy Team just wanted to tell us about Happy Moments. It is pretty simple, make a video or blog post about your happy moment, submit it to the website before March 31st and the top 3 winners of each category wins RM 5,000, RM 3,000, and RM 1,000 in cash! Pretty good deal if you ask me.
everyone was truly happy, with prizes too
After telling us this, it was time for games! There were a lot of prizes given out from the hula hoops competition and the movie quiz. I got myself 2 RM 10 Jusco vouchers, so proud! I also won the first hula hoop competition, beating the likes of Jason and Su Ann! I also played Wii for the first time with Kim, beating her in the tennis game so many times it wasn’t even funny, but it was awesome. 😀
cafe libre is located at Taman Desa
I don’t remember when was the last time I had such a fun time at an event before this one. I think the Happy Team did a great job, kudos!

Back in my high school days, there were no such thing as affordable mobile phones. If you were a highly connected person, you’d have a pager. Everyone uses the public phones and household land lines for across the wire communications. That was the glorious days of anonymous calling when caller-id was yet to be invented.
Just like any methods of communication, anonymity breeds evil out of teenagers, and we indulged ourselves in phone pranks for cheap thrills.
One day, someone thought that it’d be funny to make calls, introduce ourself as a fruit who looks for another. It goes something like this (usually in Hokkien too)
Us: Hello I am durian, may I speak to rambutan?
Answer: huh? what?
Us: Durian looking for rambutan lah, is he in?
Us: Hi I am orange, can I talk to apple ah?
Us: Orange here, I want to speak to apple
I would kill to see the reaction of the people who picks up the phone, their dumb founded voice was already priceless. We would do this at a public phone until our coins run out.
There was this time when one of my buddies dialed a number and then handed it to my pal Beh as it was his turn to do the talking. The conversation went like this:
Beh: Hello I am durian, can I speak to Apple?
Answer: What? Who do you want to look for?
Beh: I am durian lah..
Beh then suddenly realized something, hung up, and started cursing shit shit shit.
Well, that other buddy had call Beh’s house and it was his father who picked up. Hahhahaha. The poor dude was actually worried for the whole day too.
So what kinda stupid phone prank stories do you have?
