30 years back, you could never find the two words, “technology” and “fashion” appearing in the same sentence. Technology was supposed to be very straight forward, always function over form, beige box, black screen, black keyboard.
Engineers were hired, but not designers or artists. It was the dark ages. And someone like haze would say “It hurts my eyes…”

Fast forward to current time, technology and fashion now goes hand in hand. No longer are laptops coming only in the old boring black rectangular form. Aesthetics has found a home in modern technology.

Lenovo ideapad S10-2
Take for example this netbook from Lenovo, the ideapad S10-2 actually comes with four different designs. Since this is something that is small enough to be brought to everywhere, it really doesn’t hurt at all to be looking good.

Also, the PR lady who is handling Lenovo, Radiance Leong, told me to write something about her. She is like, awesome and all, go to her blog to read about her ramblings.
I digressed…
I think I wouldn’t mind having a netbook for traveling at all. The blue one kinda looks neat.
3 hours and 10 minutes to go before the end of Blogathon!
After the relatively easy first task “be creative with 6 pictures” thingy yesterday, today’s task was something actually a quite a lot more challenging. We were asked to go into TANGS and find material to blog about “Fashion and Technology Entwined”
So my topic, right?
At firs I was thinking about looking at people with high tech apparels, perhaps cloths that can change colors, t-shirt with neon display, or a dude with wearable laptops.
No such luck..

the two lovely young ladies who agreed to be in the interview
Then I thought about making a video and interview shoppers at TANGS on the same topic. Brilliant idea, could make this whole thing very simple.
So I went into the store, with Blogathon camera crews right behind me and started asking around. About a dozen people rejected my approach T_T
Until the two lovely young ladies who agreed to the interview. *THANKS*
According to them, they make use of cellphones and MMS to get the latest fashion tips all the way from across the world. For example, Farah (I hope i get the name correct) has a cousin who lives in UK and would send her photos of latest trends from London.
However, they don’t really agree with wearing cellphones or parading iPods to make a fashion statement.
OK it’s almost 5 p.m. now, I can do this!
The 9th post under Blogathon category has a topic that goes “What defines style?”. Again, the guy who’s more in tune with his tongue than his eyes sorta… struggle.
*went into a 30 minute thinking phase*

Style is usually associated with our visual sense. William Gibson’s novel – Pattern Recognition, is an exhibition of highly stylistic writings, and even though it is a book, the descriptions and the world created within feeds our visual cortex in a very profound way.
I digress, ok I didn’t know what I was talking about. Lets get back to something more direct. Like, being stylish!

stylish facial expression, failed
Ahh, this is something that Cha Bom, the stylist at TANGS is very good at. Today I am wearing this white t-shirt that says “Dead or Alive” in like, really stylish fonts.
Then there’s this very comfy and rather sweet looking David Mayer jacket that I think will make me look awesomely stylish when riding my RS 250, which of course is a very cool motorbike in itself.
OK!
*relax*
This is the 8th post on Blogathon KL project. It is about 11:35am right now, just slightly 10 more hours to go before the winner of the Ultra Slim Lenovo notebook and RM 500 TANGS voucher is announced.

Let me share with you the 10 things (that I think!) you should know about Blogathon KL 2009.
10 more hours to go, and I think lunch will be served pretty soon yey!
Being primarily known as a food blogger, it is pretty safe for you to assume that writing about fashion isn’t exactly what I’m good at. The past 800 odd posts on this blog has been on a variety of topics, with roughly half on food, but none on fashion, until today.
Now I’m going to attempt to write my second post on .. fashion fix!

I can has make up?
I’m not sure what fashion means to you, to me, it is about making yourself look more presentable/prettier/handsomer than otherwise. For girls, it involves a host of different clothing articles, accessories, and make up.
But other than when I was involved in plays more than 10 years ago, I don’t think I’ve put on make up. The photo above illustrates how wrong it can be if I attempt.. emm..

i think this pair of sunglasses suits me!
So, other than clothings, which isn’t exactly a quick fashion fix, I think the ultimate for me would be putting on a pair of sunglasses. Yesss, it’ll mask my eye bags. After all I haven’t had more than 8-9 hours of sleep combined in the last 2 days.
That pair of glasses from TANGS suits me, no?
