Been a while since I updated this blog, gotta find that discipline back. Anyway, today I want to introduce you to one of the breakfast spots we’ve been frequenting in Taman Eng Ann – the largely “invisible” Restoran Chon Yu, a small outfit a few doors down from Big Pharmacy.
Restoran Chon Yu, Taman Eng Ann
Restoran Chon Yu has one main stall offering wantan mee and is operated by (I’m guessing here) a duo of mother and daughter. Here you can find a few varieties of wantan mee – from the typical chasiu & wantan, to minced meat, and to our favorite – chicken feet with mushroom.
our favorite chicken feet wantan mee
The chicken feet and mushroom wantan mee is served with a side of wantan soup in addition to the typical deep fried then braised chicken feet and mushroom. A fan of chicken feet will definitely appreciate the texture of the chicken feet here, springy, flavorful, and with an awesome mouth feel. They’re of pretty good size too!
If you’re looking for a wholesome breakfast and happen to eat these, try it here!

this was like 6-7 ringgit, quite cheap.
This, I’d pass. Thank you very much. LOL!!!
suituapui: hahaha, chicken feet is certainly not for everyone.
I have not yet grown a taste for chicken feet.
Monica: haha i don’t blame you, took me a while too.
I love braised chicken feet (but try to not have it too often). Is the stall new? Coz I can see that their plates, bowls & cutlery are still in pearly white condition…lol! P/S: Yeah, once you stop blogging regularly, it’s difficult to get the discipline back. >.<
eatwhateatwhere: haha, the place is super old!
I like the look of the wonton mee, black enough and the noodles seem very springy and well cooked too. Is the chicken feet fall-off-the-bone type? I like it that way!
Choi Yen: yesss, it’s a very well put together plate of wantan mee for sure.
You’re always around that area eh? Ok I shall go and try it since I like chicken feet and mushroom wantan mee. Hehe
CleverMunkey: haha ya it’s the nearest Chinese morning market to me.
Just from the pictures can see the feets are really soft!
Amalina: oh yes indeed!
this chicken feet really looks good eh on the texture
taufulou: true that!
