Out of the many ways in egg preparation, the most challenging method must be the all elusive poached egg, and it is probably also the reason why they aren’t very popularly served.
A perfect poached egg has the yolk still runny with a hardened crust but no raw egg white at all. It is almost a boiled version of telur mata kerbau, expect much healthier and I reckon, tastier.

Over at Blogger MasterChef competition where I was invited as one of the judges (more on that in future post, I promise), the skills challenge for the contestants was preparing poached eggs.
Chef Ryan Khang did a demo on a simple way to prepare perfect poached egg, I tried and it worked perfectly. I am sharing this recipe. 
1. create vortex then pour egg in, 2. cook for 2 mins, 3. flip, 4. done
The “recipe” is very simple. Fresh eggs are preferred as the egg whites will be less susceptible to become separated from the yolk. Also, bigger does not mean better when it comes to egg. Eggs in room temperature is assumed in this method, otherwise you might have to let it cooked longer than described.

There you go, poached egg in less than 5 minutes. It is actually easier than it sounds, try this at home to get a hang of it, then impress your boyfriend/husband with a prefect breakfast (of course with bacon and toast together!)

For the Beer fans out there, you might have noticed that it is now already Oktober, the month that is forever associated with a festival that many of us undoubtedly are familiar of – OKTOBERFEST!
Paulaner – Strongbow – Guinness - Tiger Beer – Kilkenny
For the uninitiated, Oktoberfest is a month long celebration of good beer, good food, and plenty of performances and of course, that calls for huge celebrations.
This year is no different than previous years, GAB will again celebrate Oktoberfest in various restaurants and pubs across the country on the whole month of Oktober.

There will be quite a lot of places celebrating Oktoberfest. On these celebrations, Paulaner, Strongbow, Guinness, Tiger Beer, and Kilkenny will be on happy hour all night long on draught.
Furthermore, available exclusively during Oktoberfest festival are Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier, Hopf Ice Beer, and 111 Zwickl. You won’t want to miss out!
If you haven’t been to one, you should! I went to Oktoberfest at Bulldog last year and had a whale of time. There were tonnes of beer to go around and they are usually coupled with awesome food, and all with very good deals too, just in the name of the celebration.

I haven’t been to 798 Wine Bar at TCM yet so that’s the one that I am aiming to be for Oktoberfest, can’t wait, it’s gonna be a blast for sure.

Haze and I are in the midst of a 5 day trip to Bali and I scheduled in a day for diving with Bali Scuba. We did 3 dives today and it was beyond awesome, I came here with a purpose and got what I bargained for.
