Of the many pork spare parts that are available, my favorite would be pork kidney.

You can often find pork liver, intestine, and stomach, but unfortunately, mainly due to the difficulties in preparation, there aren’t too many places that offers kidney these days.

Monday breakfasts are always a little trickier with many kopitiam having their rest days on the first day after weekends. Lucky for me Win Heng Seng is up and running so I can have one of my favorite pork noodle that comes with all the good stuff, including kidney! #kyeats #breakfast #pork #porknoodle #kopitiam #instavideo

Luckily, tucked at this less glamourous corner of Jalan Imbi is the restaurant Win Heng Seng with a very busy pork noodle stall that serves just what I look for. Awesome bowl of pork noodle with all the good stuff, includingliver, intestine, pork slices, minced pork ball, and of course, the very slurp worthy pork kidney.

The above bowl of pork noodle cost RM 8, only because I asked for extra pork liver.

I mean, look at it, does it not call your name? The texture of pork kidney, contrast with the slightly rougher liver, and the more exquisite intestine.. and then there’s those pork slices, all in sweet savory soup. With a little bit of vegetable to  give you that nice coloration too.

Heaven!

The pork noodle comes with kueh teow, lou she fun, mee hun, or mee. There’s also dried version available as well. If you feel suicidal, feel free to ask for extra lard.

Expect a relatively long waiting time over lunch. And yah, the kopitiam is hot and not at all comfortable, but the pork noodle with be worth it. 😀

WAHHH!! i am craving for it now!! *hungry*…….

  2. Albeit expensive, I prefer the pork ball noodles (the stall beside this one). Oh, the mini egg tarts are quite good too. And yes, it’s stuffy and hot in the coffeeshop and there’s huge crowd on weekends.

  3. i love pork liver, but i’m not sure i’ve tried pork kidney before. i actually am kinda scared of eating kidneys. my first experience was with lamb kidneys some years back, and it was so stinky, i couldn’t finish it! 😀

    • Sean: Ah if you like liver, I believe you should love kidney! no stinky stinky at all. 😀

  4. yummy pork noodle indeed, i don’t really take the innards though, just lots of pork.

  5. Eating too much of animals internal organs are not good for health. The kidneys if not properly washed and cleaned can be really stinky stinky.

    • Jin: yah that’s true, but this place does it well. I tend to not eat them very often lo, have to watch out also. but once in a while gotta indulge a bit 😀

  6. I want pig’s heart!

  7. Didn’t know that the pork noodle is nice. Normally will just eat pork ball or the nasi lemak stall in front. Both is very good.

  8. yeah i ate here before. the pork noodle is awesome but parking is no no!!

  9. Yeah, come to think of it, I hardly see pork kidney over here. Some kueh chap stalls in Sarawak will have it, but it’s rare. I don’t really like soupy dishes but this seems pretty good. 🙂

Gotta have a reason to go to Imbi though, agree with Eiling, the parking lot is very cramped. 😡

  10. the pork ball noodles here are awesome too! so was the CKT!!!
