Castrol for the Win!
Before I bought my first car back in the States, I had some idea of car maintenance. Making sure the coolant is topped up, brake pads in good condition, sufficient air in the tires, and of course, regular oil change. However, the one thing that baffled me was the whole organic vs synthetic oil business.
So one day I asked a physics professor about it, and the good doctor explained “well organic oil is made up from polymer of varying length that average to a certain weight (for example 5W-40), but as you run the engine over a period of time the shorter polymer gets burned up and the oil gets ‘heavier’; however, the synthetic oil is made up of just one single polymer length and thus will be able to withstand and hold its characteristics much longer.”
I’ve been using mostly fully synthetic oil for my car since then.

Which brings us to this article that is about Castrol EDGE fully synthetic engine oil.
The latest product , Castrol EDGE Sport 0W-40 is proved to deliver maximum horsepower up to 45% longer than other synthetics. Providing protection against engine wear, performance in extreme condition, gives higher fuel economy with good thermal control.
Sounds pretty good to me. I think I should give this product a try when the maroon lady is back in operation.

Simple as that.
