“Hey U” is the title of a song by Avril Lavigne, who was featured in some of Blink 182’s music videos on youtube (originality questionable). And coincidentally, the U Mobile starter pack I got myself today has a phone number that also ends with 182.
To make things even more auspicious (as Chinese New Year is looming), the 018 number was obtained together with Mellissa, who was born on 8-8-88.
A 018 number that ends with 182 with a girl who was born on 8.8.88. Can’t exactly ask for more can you?

I’m sure by now some of you must have heard about the new cellphone network provider in town, U Mobile, with the tag line that goes “You call the shots!”. Which basically means wantedU Mobile will empower you with choices. You now get to decide what you want and how you want to communicate with your friends and family. You have freedom of choice with U Mobile.
- 0 ringgit for a starter pack
- 1 second billing (no more paying in blocks)
- 8 sen per SMS to all network
- No access fee
- Same price voice or 3g video call (0.8 sen/s)
Pretty nice deal for prepaid I’ll say, and they have pretty sweet deals for postpaid customers too with their U38, U68, and U98 plans.
Furthermore, they have their unlimited 3g data package for only RM68 per month! That’s quite a lot cheaper than the other providers. I know, I use it and I am seriously considering switching after I give U Mobile a good test run since we can now switch network while retaining our numbers.

If you too are fedup with your provider and want to give U Mobile a try, there is good news!
Come up with a sensible sms (usual short forms accepted, and limit to 160 characters) with the most number of the letter U used, and three winners will get:
- U Mobile 018 Prepaid Starter Pack
- U Mobile 018 Prepaid Top Up Voucher Worth RM50
- U Mobile Goody Bag
Good deal right? Lets make it happen already! (Shhh, but you can also use the new number for prank calls after winning it)

Mellissa is born on 8.8.88? Very auspicious. I want to get married on 9.9.09, 10.10.10, 11.11.11 or 12.12.12. Preferably earlier so my offspring can be born on 11.11.11 for the first one and 12.12.12. for the second. Nifty eh?

U mobile is getting more customer after you guys have to promote it ..LOL ..I heard U Mobile user is exceeding 700,000 people in Malaysia now .
Btw, Digi had create Digi Yellow-man as their iconic mascot ;perhaps U Mobile should create their own mascot as well . I believe using Orange color as their theme color is quite attractive and easier capture attention .

Orange Monster ? Not sure it is able to work in Malaysia or not , or they may try some outstanding slogan .
Or maybe they can try to pick Orange(Malaysia celebrity)to be their spokenmen ,her name just fit their theme color .
