there is a very little known coffee shop at the end of Jalan Sayur (original "wai sik kai" in KL) off Jln Pudu that sells wantan mee and curry mee without all the fanfare. basic wantan mee with sui kow or wantan (dry and soup version). really old school wantan mee ... hard to find in KL these days

it's a wooden shack (kopitiam) and located directly in front of a church (First Assembly of God Church) and has been there for many, many years (at least 20 yrs). very, very popular with church goers especially on sunday.

the drinks and roti bakar (using soft Hainanese bread) are made the traditional way. mom loves their kopi cham (kao!) and teh si.

used to patron the place almost every sunday and the owner knows me so much that i can take as much green chili, cili padi and sambal belacan as i can eat!

hi Ky :),

Have u tried the wantan mee stall opposite it?? operate by 3 sisters
(has longer history.. pass down from father to daughters).U must try
the *soupy* version on this stall. The handmade noodles taste super
wonderful in 'cheng tang'(broth) that full of flavour( the chicken broth
been boil for many hours kua... taste even better around or after 3pm). A bowl of noodle comes with shredded 'kai si'+ 'yoke sui'+wantan+char siew + amarath(vege). Another must order *fried wantan or soupy wantan(very smooth...can just slurp it into ur mouth), 'VIP' will get pipping hot fried wantan!!Dun like their sui kow tho...

Opening hours from morning till 4.30 Closed on Thursday(not sure) & Sunday.

[...] I tried to order their sui kow but they always ran out of those on both occasions I was there, hence we ordered a normal char siu with wan tan noodle, and a char siu with mushroom noodle. Like many wan tan mee places, they also offer the popular chicken feet with mushroom as toppings for the noodle. [...]

[...] The noodle served here was actually pretty good, though I feel that it is still 2nd to the stall in Pudu, but still pretty good nonetheless. The toppings and other items were pretty decent as well, and the RM 6 deep fried prawn really offered value for money. Other than the traditional chili, this place also offered two types of delicious sambal to go with the side dishes (sui kow and prawn). [...]

ahdave Says:

November 22nd, 2006 at 10:53 pm
Robert Wong (the sifu) mobile number is 0122690660
Call him to book in advance. OR to check whether is he open.
A piece of advice, try not to go there on friday. You will end up waiting 1hr, (even you placed a booking)
