Well, before the party of the year that falls on the Xmas Eve, we decided to house a small warm-up BBQ last friday, as it was also one of my long time friend Kar Ping’s birthday.

We bought some marinated chicken wings, some beef, corn, tomato, burger patties, and the customary sausages. Suanie, FA, and Paul later brought more beef, bacon, and ham, not to mention a bottle of vodka. Them alcoholics.. as compared to us, we still have leftovers of the one case of wine coolers from the last BBQ party on October.

As usual, Kerol got pretty drunk, and FA was high on alcohol. It was a great night, and yeah, now we’re all ready for the weekend’s bash! Remember to wear your hat!

Hungry for some burgers? Forget McDonald’s, throw away that Burger King’s voucher, to get the best, try the local Ramli’s, and for the best of Ramli burgers, head to the mamak square at SS2.

For the uninformed, the local Ramli burger is prepared slightly different from those you find at popular fast food outlets (I know, I worked in McDonald’s many years ago.)

The bun is first splitted into two halves, butter is applied to the inside, and then the buns are “fried”, butter side down. At the same time, the meat patty is also being cooked on the same surface. After about 3/4 way done, the beef is splitted into two halves on it’s thick side, but usually still connected (forming a figure eight). Seasoning is then applied to the inside. If you order a “special”, an egg is spread on the pan, and then wrap around the patty like an envolope, as opposed to the McD’s style of making patty look-alike egg. Lettuce, onion, mayonese, and chilli/tomato sauce are added on to complete the dish.

When you are at SS2 and hungry for burger, head over to the mamak square. The guy you see on the picture above is Wan, a friendly Malay chap who loves fishing. Order from him, say that I recommend you and get no discount. Ask ST or Kim, they love his burger too!

Well well, by now I hope some of you might have already recieved the SMS invite for the Xmas Eve Party that I sent out last night. For those hot chicks whom I have not had the privilege of having the phone number, please drop a comment here or send me a mail and I shall send you the invite. Now, here are some of the details of our party.

• you must wear a hat of some sort, like a santa’s hat, tall hat, winter hat, or wig, but no caps allowed. Violators will be severely punished (see photo below)
• try to bring some finger food to share, but don’t expect to have a full dinner here
• if you can, bring alcohol, FA will love you for this
• no shoes nor smoking indoor
• bring a gift of value at around RM 10 for gift exchange
• do not try to molest FA, you can and will die from beating by her, or her legion of fans
• do not throw anyone or puke in the koi pond, i will kill you
• party starts at 8pm till the last drunk person goes home

The highlight of the party will be the gift exchange. I think we’ll also give out best dresser and worst dresser award of the night. Prizes might or might not be given out. Winners will be by voting, nomination by FA and Suan, or something…

I bet my socks that some of you might have not even heard of black chicken, let alone having eaten it before. According to this site, black chicken is also referred to as the Taihi chicken, Silky chicken, or Black-boned chicken. I was so delighted when I found out that a stall in Chow Yang, Mac Roy Steam Duck Mee, carries such a dish. The last I hat it was at my hometown in Penang cooked by my mom, probably years back.

I ordered the black chicken in herbal soup with mee suah (fine wheat noodle.) The chicken was very well cooked and requires very little chewing. The flavor of the herbal soup was reasonably strong, and as most well prepared herbal soup, the taste of the chicken are a little weakend due to it’s flavor lost into the soup, which is actually a good thing. The mee suah was quite good, too, without being sticky nor too hard.

If you are one that loves Chinese herbal soup noodles, do try this out. At only 5 ringgit, you can’t go wrong.

Hi there boys and girls, it’s that time of the year again, have you been good this year? If you haven’t sinned yet this year, you get your last chance at our Xmas eve party!

I cordially invite everyone who was in any of the previous parties held in my residence to come and join us this time, please do email/sms/call/IM to me or any of my housemates if you are coming, I am trying to guesstimate the amount of attendees. An SMS invite will be sent out and it’ll be your entrance ticket.

As for those who aren’t in my phonebook but are of the lenglui pedigree, please email me at the address listed below with your phone number and any sort of details you want to personally share with me. My email address is listed at the bottom of this post.

Since this is going to be a x’mas party, we will be having the infamous gift exchange program like we did last year. So, bring a gift of value at around RM10 to the party. The gift exchange comes with a bit of a twist, we will be drawing numbers for all participants. The person with number 1 picks the gift first and opens it, the next person gets to choose either the opened gift, granting the 1st person to re-choose a gift from the pack, or pick another unopened package from the pile. Hence, the person with the last number is generally the luckiest. We shall see. It’s going to be fun.

Bring yourself, and if you feel like chipping in a little, bring some finger food to share, and perhaps some alcohol if you want to see the likes of FA and Kim gets drunk and act silly. Do note that FA can and will start dancing when intoxicated. You’ll never know how ST, suanie, cass, and Goh act when high either.
